Studio portrait of 686 Corporal Stanley Millwood Garnham, 3rd Battalion, of Morpeth, NSW. A school teacher prior to enlistment, he embarked from Sydney with "D" Company, 3rd Battalion aboard HMAT Euripides on 20 October 1914. Later promoted to the rank of 2nd Lieutenant, Garnham was killed in action at Lone Pine on 8 August 1915, aged 31. His name is commemorated on the Lone Pine Memorial, Gallipoli.
