Studio portrait of 5078 Private (Pte) James William Poulter, 22nd Battalion. A driver from Greensborough, Vic prior to enlistment, Pte Poulter embarked with the 13th Reinforcements from Melbourne on HMAT Ayrshire on 3 July 1916. After being twice wounded in action, he was killed in action on 4 October 1918, aged 19 and was buried in the Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gouy, France
