Studio portrait of 406465 Aircraftman Donald James Bassett, 4 Communications Unit, RAAF, of Western Australia, who enlisted at Perth, WA, on 6 January 1941. Later as a Flight Lieutenant, he was killed when the Lockheed Hudson aircraft (A16-118) he was travelling in, crashed at Machans Beach, Qld, on 5 March 1945. He was aged 26.
