Studio portrait of 5477 Private (Pte) George Harold Slade, 12th Battalion of Woodenbong, NSW. A farmer prior to enlistment, he embarked with the 17th Reinforcements on SS Hawkes Bay on 20 April 1916. On 15 April 1917 he was killed in action at Lagnicourt, France, aged 17 years and seven months.
