Studio portrait of 6880 Private (Pte) Alfred D'Arcy Lucas, 3 Battalion, of Beckom, NSW. Formerly a farmer, Pte Lucas enlisted on 23 August 1916 and as a member of the 22nd Reinforcements he embarked from Sydney, NSW, aboard the SS Port Nicholson on 8 November 1916. He served on the Western Front in France where he was killed in action on 14 April 1918, aged 25.
