Studio portrait of 6361 Private (Pte) Edward Rowland Shepheard, 9th Battalion, of Proserpine, Qld. A farmer before enlisting on 28 March 1916, Pte Shepheard embarked with the 20th Reinforcements from Brisbane on HMAT Clan McGillvray on 7 September 1916. He was killed in action in France on 15 April 1917, at the age of 38.
