Studio portrait of 7317 Private (Pte) William Palmer Ritchie, 2nd Battalion, of Marrickville, NSW. A clerk prior to enlistment, Pte Ritchie embarked with the 24th Reinforcements from Sydney on RMS Osterley on 10 February 1917. Having previously transferred to the 36th Battalion, he was killed in action in Belgium on 12 October 1917, aged 19.
