Studio portrait of 415104 Flight Sergeant (Flt Sgt) Douglas John Tresidder, of Perth, WA. Enlisting in the RAAF in July 1941, Flt Sgt Tresidder trained as an Observer as part of the Empire Air Training Scheme in England, and was posted to 101 Squadron at RAF Lincolnshire. Flt Sgt Tresidder was killed when his aircraft, Lancaster ED328, Radio call-sign SR-S, (S-Sugar), was shot down during an operational sortie over Lanke, near Berlin, on the night of 23/24 August 1943, aged 21.
