Studio portrait of 430 Private (Pte) Colin 'Sprat' David Hall, 33rd Battalion, of Manilla, NSW. Employed as a horse-breaker, and with service with the 5th Light Horse Regiment, Citizen's Military Force (CMF), Pte Hall enlisted in January 1916, left Australia for England in May 1916, and arrived in France in November 1916. Pte Hall was killed in action during the 33rd Battalion's attack on Passchendaele on 12 October 1917, aged 21, and has no known grave.
