Portrait of 402629 Flying Officer (FO) Harry Neville Young, 455 Squadron RAAF, of Newcastle, NSW. FO Young, a clerk before enlisting in Sydney on 16 September 1940, was born in Hamilton, NSW, on 24 May 1920. After training in Canada under the Empire Air Training Scheme, he served with No. 455 Squadron. He and the other three Australian crew of Handley Page HP52 Bomber, serial number P5325, were lost on operations on 2 April 1942 over Quiberon Bay, France. FO Young was 21 years old at the time of his death.
