Studio portrait of 52930 Trooper (Tpr) Kenneth Ernest Forward, 10th Light Horse Regiment, of Shenton Park, WA, enlisted on 18 February 1918. Forward also enlisted for service during the Second World War at Claremont, WA, on 21 January 1941. Under the service number WX10869, Forward served as a Craftsman (Cfn) with 104 Light Aid Detachment, Army Ordnance Corps. He was taken Prisoner of War (POW) by the Japanese at Ambon in early 1942, and held as a prisoner at Ambon and then the island of Hainan. He died on 5 September 1945 at Hainan.
