A white cross marks the grave of NX87909 Private (Pte) Edward Charles Collison of Kandos, NSW, at Torokina War Cemetery. Enlisting in the Second AIF in February 1942, Pte Collison served in the Pacific campaign with the 55/53rd Battalion and was killed at Bora Bora on Bougainville Island when his patrol was ambushed by Japanese forces on 13 April 1945, aged 34.
