Portrait of NX52235 Private (Pte) Norman James Bolger, 2/20 Battalion of Gulargambone, NSW. The son of Andrew Walker Bolger and Mona Emily Bolger, Pte Bolger enlisted on 4 July 1940. He embarked with the battalion for Singapore, as part of the 22nd Brigade of the 8th Australian Division, on 2 February 1941. He was killed in action during the Japanese advance on Singapore on 9 February, 1942.
