Studio portrait of 3709 Private (Pte) Bernshaw Lomax Beaumont, 9th Battalion, of Toowoomba, Qld. Formerly a station hand, Pte Beaumont enlisted on 13 November 1915, and as a member of the 12th Reinforcements he embarked from Brisbane, Qld, aboard HMAT Itonus (A50) on 30 December 1915. He served on the Western Front later with the49th Battalion and was killed in action at Bullecourt, France, on 5 April 1917.
