Studio portrait of 421195 Pilot Officer (PO) Ronald Edward Robert Fountain, 3 Squadron, RAAF. The son of Albert Edward and Ivy Jane Fountain, of Bondi Beach, NSW, PO Fountain enlisted on 31 January 1942. He was killed in action whilst flying his Mustang over Yugoslavia on 6 December 1944, aged 22. He has no known grave and is commemorated at the Malta Memorial, Valletta.
