Studio portrait of 3928 Private (Pte) Conrad Albert Alford Jahn (right), 16th Battalion, of Northam, WA, standing with his brother Rudy. Formerly a plumber, Pte Jahn enlisted on 24 August 1915, and as a member of the 12th Reinforcements, he embarked from Fremantle aboard HMAT Ajana (A31) on 22 December 1915. He served on the Western Front later with the 4th Pioneer Battalion and was killed in action at Pozieres, France, on 5 August 1916, aged 21.
