Studio portrait of Q38825 Lieutenant (Lt) Henry Michael Alfred Morton, 2nd Auxiliary Horse Transfer Company (2AHTC), Australian Army Service Corps, of Gordonvale, Qld. Formerly a cane farmer and a member of the Militia since 1930, (serving with the 31st and 51st Battalions), Lt Morton enlisted with the AIF at Townsville, Qld, on 18 December 1941 and served in Australia. He was accidentally struck by an RAAF motor tender near Townsville, Qld, and died of his injuries on 1 January 1943, aged 39.
