Portrait of 5812A Private (Pte) Clement Augustine Leo (Clem) Connor, 27th Battalion, of Perth, WA. Formerly a farm hand Pte Connor enlisted on 29 May 1916 and as a member of the 16th Reinforcements he embarked from Fremantle aboard HMAT Port Melbourne (A16) on 30 October 1916. He served later with the 28th Battalion on the Western Front, in France, where he died of wounds on 12 December 1917, aged 19.
