Sepia-toned studio portrait of NX67194 Lieutenant (Lt) Ivan Stanley Clarke, 36th Battalion. Lt Clarke was born at Adelaide, SA, and was a grazier at Running Stream near Mudgee, NSW. He he enlisted at Paddington, NSW, 14 January 1940. Lt Clarke was killed by a Japanese sniper on 29 December 1942 during the battalion attack on Sanananda, Papua New Guinea. He was 31 years old.
