Studio portrait of 643 Private (Pte) (later Corporal) Donald Grantworth Lucas, 1st Light Horse Regiment, of Ardlethan via Temora, NSW. Formerly a farmer, Pte Lucas enlisted on 5 September 1914 and as a member of the 1st Reinforcements, he embarked from Sydney, NSW, aboard HMAT Boorara (A42) on 20 December 1914. He served in Palestine where he died of wounds on 15 July 1918.
