Studio portrait of PA2286 Ordinary Seaman (OD) Angus Colin McPhee, HMAS Lonsdale. Born in Kensington, SA, OD McPhee was a commercial traveller before enlisting in the RAN on 1 July 1941. He was allocated to the shore establishments HMAS Torrens, HMAS Cerberus, HMAS Lonsdale and HMAS Penguin before embarking for Batavia on 5 February 1942. While attached to HMS Anking, a depot ship which formed part of a convoy which was attacked and sunk by Japanese cruisers in the Sunda Strait, he was killed in action on 4 March 1942.
