Studio portrait of NX203650 Private (Pte) Maxwell George Eggins of Lismore, NSW. A commercial business assistant before enlisting in the Second AIF in May 1944, Pte Eggins served in the Pacific campaign with the 2/24 Battalion. He was killed in action at Tarakan, Borneo, on 9 May 1945, aged 19.
