Studio portrait of 413849 Flying Officer (FO) Stephen Watson-Brown, RAAF, of Sydney, NSW. FO Watson-Brown enlisted on 13 September 1941 and after graduating as an Observer, he served with 156 Squadron (Sqn), RAF, and 7 Sqn, RAF. On 1 April 1944 he was posted to 582 Pathfinder Sqn, RAF, and promoted to Flight Lieutenant. He was killed during air operations, when his Lancaster aircraft was hit by flak and exploded over the French town of Rennes on 28 May 1944. He was aged 21.
