Studio portrait of 5156 Private (Pte) William Henry Charles Munro, 2nd Battalion, of Longueville, NSW. A tanner before enlisting on 18 January 1916, Pte Munro embarked from Sydney on the SS Makarini on 1 April 1916 with the 16th Reinforcements. He died of wounds at the 2nd Casualty Clearing Station, France, on 28 May 1918, at the age of 26.
