Studio portrait of 6986 Private (Pte) Eardley Austin Clark, 10th Battalion, of Port Elliott, SA. Pte Clark was a miner prior to enlisting on 26 October 1916. He embarked from Adelaide on HMAT Berrima on 16 December 1916 with the 23rd Reinforcments. He was wounded in the Broodseinde sector on 8 October 1917, and later killed in action in France on 30 July 1918, at the age of 38.
