Studio portrait of 2388 Private (Pte) Cyril Henry Schwab, 22nd Battalion, of Camberwell, Vic. A file-cleaner and potter prior to enlisting on 9 July 1915, Pte Schwab embarked from Melbourne on the RMS Osterley with the 5th Reinforcements on 29 September 1915. On 9 August 1916 he died of wounds sustained at Pozieres, at the age of 19.
