Studio portrait of 3 Private (Pte) James Clarence Hendy, 10th Infantry Brigade Headquarters, of Geelong, Vic. Pte Clarrie Hendy had previously served in the Australian Mounted Cadet Corps and had toured England and Europe as part of a tour of military instruction before enlisting in Australia in February 1916. He arrived in France in November 1916, serving on the Western Front till the end of the First World War. He returned to Australia in May 1919.
