Studio portrait of 1880 Acting Sergeant (A/Sgt) David Gibson Jude Badger, 27th Battalion, of Peterborough, SA. He was a clerk before enlisting on 24 May 1915, and served with the rank of Acting Sergeant, then Acting Corporal, before embarking from Adelaide on RMS Morea on 26 August 1915 with the 3rd Reinforcements. On 28 February 1916 he was transferred to the 10th Battalion. On 10 August 1916 he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. He was killed in action by a shell on 21 August 1916 at Mouquet Farm. He was 21 years old.
