Description
3101948 Major Richard James Wellard (foreground, wearing bush hat), leads out D Company, 4th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment - New Zealand (ANZAC) (4RAR), the last group to vacate the 1st Australian Task Force Base at Nui Dat. The men are armed with a variety of weapons including 7.62 mm L1A1 self-loading rifles (SLR) and 5.56 mm M16A1 automatic rifles one of which is fitted with an M203, 40mm grenade launcher.
