Studio portrait of S/3834 Able Seaman (AB) John Barron Walker of Bondi, NSW. AB Walker enlisted on 4 January 1940, and served on the SS Slamat . He died, aged 33, on 27 April 1941 when the Slamat was sunk during a German air attack in the Aegean Sea during the evacuation of Crete.
