Pre-enlistment studio portrait of 7042 Private (Pte) Wilfred Henry Plumb, 4th Battalion, of Wickham, NSW. A grocer prior to enlistment, he embarked with the 23rd Reinforcements on HMAT Suevic (A29) on 11 November 1916. Pte Plumb was killed in action during the Battle of Lys in France on 13 April 1918, aged 31.
