Portrait of WX13398 Private (Pte) Clarence Cooper Lawrence, 2/43rd Battalion, of Perth, WA. A farmer in civilian life, he enlisted on 21 May 1941. Shortly after reaching the Alamein front, Pte Cooper died of wounds received in action on 28 July 1942, aged 21. He is buried at El Alamein War Cemetery, Egypt.
