The feeling on a rum issue
Description
This is a caricature illustration of a Supply Reserve Depot with an enormous bottle of rum being levered onto its side to enable the pour of the battalion's rations. The letters 'S.R.D.' are printed across the tapered top of the botte. A soldier sits on a wooden plank, using his body weight to assist the maneouvre. The cork is being levered open by an oversized officer, holding a thimble-sized cup as the rum drips from the opening. Behind him, the dwarfed battalion trails out through the door; the soldier at the front of the line eagerly holds up a saucepan for his ration.
