The ammunition lorry convoy
Description
Depicts a bleak and barren landscape with a road along a ridge. Bunker holes can be seen at various intervals in the side of the ridge face. Along the top of the ridge is a winding road, along which the ammunition lorry convoy proceeds. The terrain is filled with potholes and many of the bare trees now mere stumps, suggesting that this was once the battlefield. A farmhouse or the remnants of a village is just visible on the crest of the hill in the distance. The sky is grey and gloomy, lending the drawing an ominous atmosphere as the convoy makes it way to the front line.
