Studio portrait of SX12372 Private (Pte) Percy Arthur Badenoch, 2/10 Battalion, AIF. A gardener from Carey's Gully, SA, Pte Badenoch enlisted with the 2/10th Battalion on 26 April 1941. He was killed in action on 26 December 1942, during one of the Battalion's attacks against Japanese bunkers around the old airstrip at Buna, Papua, an action that saw 113 Australians killed and 205 wounded. Pte Badenoch is buried at the Port Moresby (Bomana) War Cemetery.
