Im Thurn family portrait
Description
Studio portrait of the im Thurn family, father and three daughters, all of whom served in the British services in the Second World War. Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Basil Bernhardt von Brumsey im Thurn, DSO MC, The Hampshire Regiment, surrounded by his daughters from left: Wren Susan im Thurn WRNS; Section Officer Rosemary im Thurn WAAF; and Junior Commander Joan im Thurn ATS. Three sweetheart brooches belonging to Rosemary are held in the collection of the Memorial.
