Studio portrait of 3927 Private Eric Arnold Tilemann, 48th Battalion who was a 24 year old clerk from St Peters, South Australia when he enlisted on 9 January 1918. He embarked for overseas with the 11th Reinforcements from Sydney on 22 March 1918 aboard HMAT Runic. After seeing action in France with the 48th Battalion, Private Tilemann returned to Australia on 30 August 1919. One of 131 photographs displayed on an honour board showing members of the Adelaide Rowing Club who enlisted for active service in the First World War. The original is held by the Adelaide Rowing Club who kindly loaned the board to the Australian War Memorial for copying.
