Studio portrait of 2113 Corporal (Cpl) Guy Errol Beresford, 27th Battalion who was a 25 year old salesman from North Adelaide, South Australia when he enlisted on 31 May 1915. He embarked for overseas as a Private with the 4th Reinforcements from Adelaide on 21 September 1915 aboard HMAT Star of England. After being wounded in action in France on 29 June 1916, he was evacuated to England for medical treatment and then transferred to the Pay Corps. Cpl Beresford arrived back in Australia on 10 November 1919. One of 131 photographs displayed on an honour board showing members of the Adelaide Rowing Club who enlisted for active service in the First World War. The original is held by the Adelaide Rowing Club who kindly loaned the board to the Australian War Memorial for copying.
