Studio portrait of PM2243 Signalman (Sig) Alwyn John (Jack, Bobby) Breen of Kyabram, Vic. A member of the Royal Australian Navy Volunteer Reserve (RANVR) before enlisting in the RAN in September 1939, Sig Breen was one of three Australian sailors killed on board HMAS Swan (II) when it was attacked by Japanese aircraft in Darwin Harbour on 19 February 1942. Sig Breen's Roll of Honour record states that he was buried "In stream off Darwin Wharf".
