Studio portrait of 36093 Gunner Percy Norman De Rose, Field Artillery Brigade who was a 28 year old clerk from Gilberton, South Australia when he enlisted on 3 October 1916. He embarked for overseas with the 28th Reinforcements from Melbourne on 9 November 1917 aboard HMAT Port Sydney. While on active service in France with the 30th Battery, 8th Field Artillery Brigade, he was wounded in action on 1 September 1918. Following evacuation to England for medical treatment, he arrived back in Australia on 5 April 1919. One of 131 photographs displayed on an honour board showing members of the Adelaide Rowing Club who enlisted for active service in the First World War. The original is held by the Adelaide Rowing Club who kindly loaned the board to the Australian War Memorial for copying.
