Studio portrait of 5982 Private Lewis Sedgewick Dubois, 4th Light Horse Brigade Train who was a 30 year old clerk from Leabrook, South Australia when he enlisted on 15 February 1915. He embarked for overseas from Adelaide on 26 May 1915 aboard HMAT Afric. He saw active service in France and was promoted to Sergeant on 13 March 1916. Sergeant Dubois returned to Australia on 15 February 1919. One of 131 photographs displayed on an honour board showing members of the Adelaide Rowing Club who enlisted for active service in the First World War. The original is held by the Adelaide Rowing Club who kindly loaned the board to the Australian War Memorial for copying.
