Studio portrait of 11131 Private Jack Robertson Bennett, Australian Army Service Corps who was a 23 year old clerk from North Watherville, South Australia when he enlisted on 30 August 1915. He embarked for overseas with the 25th Company, 3rd Divisional Train from Adelaide on 9 June 1916 aboard HMAT Afric. After serving on the Western Front in France, he arrived back in Australia on 16 August 1919 with rank of Corporal. One of 131 photographs displayed on an honour board showing members of the Adelaide Rowing Club who enlisted for active service in the First World War. The original is held by the Adelaide Rowing Club who kindly loaned the board to the Australian War Memorial for copying.
