Studio portrait of PA5017 Able Seaman Peter Robert Mead who was an 18 year old laboratory assistant from Rose Park, South Australia when he joined the Royal Australian Navy on 4 December 1944. He was an Able Seaman Radar Plotter at HMAS Torrens (shore establishment in Adelaide) when he was demobilised on 12 September 1946. One of 86 photographs displayed on an honour board showing members of the Adelaide Rowing Club who enlisted for active service in the Second World War. The original is held by the Adelaide Rowing Club who kindly loaned the board to the Australian War Memorial for copying.
