Studio portrait of PA5018 Ordinary Seaman Ewen McIntryre McBride who was an 18 year old driver from Prospect Gardens, South Australia when he joined the Royal Australian Navy on 4 December 1944. He was promoted to Midshipman on 1 October 1945, to Sub Lieutenant on 11 February 1947 and to Lieutenant on 15 June 1948. He resigned on 24 March 1950. One of 86 photographs displayed on an honour board showing members of the Adelaide Rowing Club who enlisted for active service in the Second World War. The original is held by the Adelaide Rowing Club who kindly loaned the board to the Australian War Memorial for copying.
