Studio portrait of 267455 Flight Lieutenant Douglas Nelson Linnett who was a 35 year old free-lance journalist when he joined the Royal Australian Air Force on 5 June 1941. After serving in Egypt and the United Kingdom, he continued to serve until 30 April 1945. One of 86 photographs displayed on an honour board showing members of the Adelaide Rowing Club who enlisted for active service in the Second World War. The original is held by the Adelaide Rowing Club who kindly loaned the board to the Australian War Memorial for copying.
