Studio portrait of 27092 Petty Officer Peter Alexander Gillespie who was an 18 year old when he joined the Royal Australian Navy on 15 June 1943. He served as a Radio Mechanic until he was demobilised on 31 January 1947. One of 86 photographs displayed on an honour board showing members of the Adelaide Rowing Club who enlisted for active service in the Second World War. The original is held by the Adelaide Rowing Club who kindly loaned the board to the Australian War Memorial for copying.
