Studio portrait of 416918 Pilot Officer Wilfred Wilson Alexander who was a 32 year old salesman from Adelaide, South Australia when he enlisted in the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) on 8 November 1941. While serving with 27 Operational Training Unit, Royal Air Force (RAF) at Lichfield, Staffordshire, United Kingdom, he was killed in an accident in a Wellington aircraft on 14 March 1943. He is buried in St Stephen's Churchyard, Fradley, Staffordshire, United Kingdom. One of 86 photographs displayed on an honour board showing members of the Adelaide Rowing Club who enlisted for active service in the Second World War. The original is held by the Adelaide Rowing Club who kindly loaned the board to the Australian War Memorial for copying.
