Informal portrait of SX9339 Captain (Capt) Clement Loughlin Schrader who was a 29 year old draughtsman from Cowandilla, South Australia when he enlisted in the Army on 1 July 1940. He was serving with the 2nd/7th Field Regiment when he was reported missing in action and presumed dead on 1 October 1944 in New Guinea. Capt Schrader's name is recorded on the Lae Memorial, Papua New Guinea with those who have no known grave. One of 86 photographs displayed on an honour board showing members of the Adelaide Rowing Club who enlisted for active service in the Second World War. The original is held by the Adelaide Rowing Club who kindly loaned the board to the Australian War Memorial for copying.
