Studio portrait of PA2174 Leading Seaman John Gavin Jaffray who was an 18 year old from Brighton, South Australia when he joined the Royal Australian Navy on 2 May 1941. He was demobilised on 29 April 1946 as a Leading Supply Assistant. One of 86 photographs displayed on an honour board showing members of the Adelaide Rowing Club who enlisted for active service in the Second World War. The original is held by the Adelaide Rowing Club who kindly loaned the board to the Australian War Memorial for copying.
