Studio portrait of J. Hilton, possibly SX16110 Sergeant Jack Hilton, from Unley Park, South Australia who was a 28 year old when he joined the Army on 8 January 1942. He was serving with the 2/8 Armoured Regiment when he was discharged on 14 June 1944. [Portrait has a cross indicating that he died during the war but there is no J. Hilton on the Roll of Honour.] One of 86 photographs displayed on an honour board showing members of the Adelaide Rowing Club who enlisted for active service in the Second World War. The original is held by the Adelaide Rowing Club who kindly loaned the board to the Australian War Memorial for copying.
